Preserving the beauty of Our Pines

The natural landscape of towering trees is one of the features that makes The Groves special, and we will always honor this natural ecosystem. We created a timber harvest project to repurpose trees that had to be cut down here and use them for various projects in our neighborhoods, so that the timber can be preserved, rather than going to waste.

Named Landscape Design of the Year at Houston’s Best Prism Awards in 2016, preserving the woods has been a huge driver in The Groves’ planning efforts:

  • Stepping stones made from recycled trees, as well as parts of the nature playground.
  • Repurposed timber used in The Hearth Amenity Center.
  • Working with landscape design professionals to design roadway and utility corridors around specimen trees and dedicating large forested reserves and landscape buffers throughout this community.
  • Backdrop of trees for every surrounding — Our parks, our Fish Camp, trails and even our Lifestyle Center and The Hearth Amenity Center.
