The Groves Update Regarding Tropical System Harvey
8/30/2017

Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by the unprecedented flooding caused by Harvey.
Many have asked how The Groves community has fared through this trying time and we
wanted to provide an update.

As of Wednesday, August 30, we are not aware of any homes in The Groves that have been
flooded. Residents also reportedly have power and potable water in their homes. During the
height of the storm, there was minor wind damage to trees, some street flooding and added
water in Madera Creek, which runs through the heart of the community.

As of August 30, 2017, authorities report both nearby Lake Houston and the West Fork of the
San Jacinto River that feeds the lake have crested. The latest report shows Lake Houston is at
51.35 feet, nearly a foot below its high point a day before. The lake remains 9.65 feet above its
full level. The San Jacinto River flood gauge near Humble was at 67.38 feet (flood stage is 49.3
feet), down 1.73 feet from the previous day.

We encourage all residents and visitors of The Groves to remain extremely cautious traveling to
and from The Groves as we know there are surrounding areas that have flooded. Be sure to
avoid any water over roadways and look for any debris that may have settled on surrounding
roads as a result of the flooding. We will continue to assess the damage and provide additional
updates as needed.
